  15.        This program is part of the Samba suite.

  17.        tteessttppaarrmm is a very simple test program to  check  an  ssmmbbdd
  18.        configuration  file for internal correctness. If this pro-
  19.        gram reports no problems, you can  use  the  configuration
  20.        file  with confidence that smbd will successfully load the
  21.        configuration file.
  22.  
  23.        Note that this is NOT a guarantee that the services speci-
  24.        fied  in  the configuration file will be available or will
  25.        operate as expected.

  27.        If the optional host name and host IP address  are  speci-
  28.        fied  on  the  command  line,  this  test program will run
  29.        through the service entries reporting whether  the  speci-
  30.        fied host has access to each service.

  35.           This is the name of the configuration file to check.

  74.        The location of the server and its support files is a mat-
  75.        ter for individual system  administrators.  The  following
  76.        are thus suggestions only.

  78.        It  is  recommended that the tteessttppaarrmm program be installed
  79.        under the /usr/local hierarchy, in a directory readable by
  80.        all,  writeable only by root. The program itself should be
  81.        executable by all.  The program should NOT  be  setuid  or
  82.        setgid!

  85.        This  man  page  is (mostly) correct for version 1.9.00 of
  86.        the Samba suite, plus some of the recent  patches  to  it.
  87.        These notes will necessarily lag behind development of the
  88.        software, so it is possible that your version of the  pro-
  89.        gram  has  extensions  or  parameter semantics that differ
  90.        from or are not covered by this man  page.  Please  notify
  91.        these to the address below for rectification.

  97.        The  program  will issue a message saying whether the con-
  98.        figuration file loaded OK or not. This message may be pre-
  99.        ceded  by errors and warnings if the file did not load. If
  100.        the file was loaded OK, the program then dumps  all  known
  101.        service details to stdout.

  103.        If  a  host  name  is specified but no host IP number, all
  104.        bets are off.
